They are attached by placing the fitting over the end of a hydraulic hose, and then crimping the fitting to the hose with a crimping machine. The crimping machine applies pressure evenly around the base of the fitting, resulting in a strong seal between the hydraulic fitting and hydraulic hose. There are long teeth on the hose which, under pressure, attach to the crimp fitting and result in a more durable seal that is suitable for high pressure applications.</p>
